Matthew 7:5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
Hypocrite : [hip-uh-krit]–noun1.a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.2.a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, especially one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.
The above has been on my mind lately as the Media, the so-called Political Elite and every scumbag Politician ( Democrat and Repugnican) cry from the mountain top that the "Weiner must go!"
Let's be clear about something before we go on. What Rep. Weiner did was incredibly stupid but it was not illegal. And yet, what David Vitter did was illegal and no one, not the slimy politicians, the national media nor the moral crusaders are calling for his scalp. More on that "God fearing" piece of pig excrement in a moment.
Rep. Weiner should have known that there were folks out to claim his (or any Democratic ) scalp. He should have known that nothing is safe nowadays and around ever corner and under every pile of dog shit a Breitbart waits to soil your shoes. This is the age we live in. He should have known that the women he was "sexting" would sell their stories once the feeding frenzy began.
The Re-Pug-Nicans are all in a lather pointing their self-righteous fingers at the moral depravity that is Weiner yet in their midst sulk quite a few moral degenerates. John Boehner ( or do you say BONER?) is close to shedding tears at the thought of Rep. Weiner flaunting his " sizable package" to a few more than willing "female" participants. Maybe if he had flashed his "boner" in a "Men's toilet" at an "Airport in Minnesota, Johnny ( by the way..it's pronounced..B.O.N.E.R! Who the hell does Johnny think he's kidding? BOE is not pronounced BAY!) would have excused it. After all, there are Re-Thug-nican closet cases do love them some... eh hmm... "Weiner" do they not?
Case in point...
Mark FoleyAnyway......How's that verse go? "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
U.S. Representative
(September 28, 2006)
The Crime: Sending sexually laced, grammatically challenged instant messages and e-mails to teenaged boys in the Congressional page program for more than 10 years.
The Hypocrisy: Chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children. One of the foremost opponents of child pornography in the Senate.
The Quote: "get a ruler and measure it for me."
Ted Haggard
Leader of the National Association of Evangelicals
(November 2006)
The Crime: Paying male prostitutes for sex and snorting crystal meth.
The Hypocrisy: A powerful force in the evangelical movement, Haggard participated in weekly meetings with President George Bush and top advisers where he gave spiritual advice. He taught that homosexuality was an abomination and actively lobbied against gay rights.
The Quote: "I did not have a homosexual relationship with a man in Denver."
Larry Craig
U.S. Senator
Senate Liaison for Mitt Romney's Presidential Campaign
(June 11, 2007)
The Crime: Soliciting sex from an undercover cop in an airport bathroom
The Hypocrisy: Craig twice voted against adding the words, sexual orientation, to the federal hate crimes law. Craig also voted to give states the right to refuse to recognize gay marriage, a right they already had, but the Senator wanted to really, really prove he didn't like gay people.
The Quote: "I am not gay, I don?t do these kinds of things."
Bob Allen
Member of the Florida House of Representatives
Florida Chairman of John McCain's Presidential Campaign
(July 11, 2007)
The Crime: Offering an undercover cop $20 to allow Allen to blow him in a mens room in a public park. After being arrested, Allen tried to explain that he only offered to blow the cop because the cop was a burly black man and he didn't want to become a statistic.
The Hypocrisy: Allen was one of 21 Florida legislators to sign Gov. Jeb Bush's friend-of-the-court brief supporting the state?s ban on gays adopting children, and he co-sponsored an unsuccessful bill that would have enhanced penalties for offenses involving unnatural and lascivious acts such as indecent exposure.
The Quote: 'I certainly wasn't there to have sex with anybody and certainly wasn't there to exchange money for it."
Glenn Murphy Jr.
National Chairman of the Young Republicans
Chairman of the Clark County Republican Party
(July 28, 2007)
The Crime: Murphy got a fellow Young Republican drunk and then spent the night at his house. The other young man woke up in the middle of the night to find Murphy giving him mouth-to-penis resuscitation. After this incident, a 1998 sexual battery report came to light in which Murphy was alleged to have done the exact same thing.
The Hypocrisy: Murphy was a well-paid political consultant for Republican candidates and often advised them to use gay marriage as a wedge issue to paint their opponents as out of touch with traditional values.
The Quote: ?I was in the Sound of Music in High School.Don't ask. (from his now-defunct Myspace page.)
Yeah ...sure. so much for that eh?
Now we come to David (The Shitter ) Vitter. Proud son and diaper wearer from the State of Louisiana.
Wikipedia:
From the Huffington Post there is this...In early July 2007, Vitter's phone number was included in a published list of phone records of Pamela Martin and Associates, a company owned and run by Deborah Jeane Palfrey, also known as the "D.C. Madam", convicted by the U.S. government for running a prostitution service. Hustler identified the phone number and contacted Vitter's office to ask about his connection to Palfrey.[18][19] The following day, Vitter issued a written statement
"This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible. Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling. Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there — with God and them. But I certainly offer my deep and sincere apologies to all I have disappointed and let down in any way.."
The statement containing Vitter's apology said his telephone number was included in phone records dating from his days as a member of the House of Representatives.[6] Phone records show that Vitter's number was called by Palfrey's service five times, the first on October 12, 1999, and the last on February 27, 2001.[21] Two calls were placed while House roll call votes were in progress.[22][23]
On July 16, 2007, after a week of self-imposed seclusion, Vitter emerged and called a news conference. Standing next to his wife, Vitter asked the public for forgiveness. Following Vitter's remarks, Wendy Vitter, his wife, spoke. Both refused to answer any questions.[24][25][26]
As background, several news outlets reported that in May 1999, Vitter replaced Congressman Bob Livingston after Livingston resigned due to an adultery scandal.[1][27][28] Vitter said about Livingston's decision to resign, "It's obviously a tremendous loss for the state. I think Livingston's stepping down makes a very powerful argument that Clinton should resign as well and move beyond this mess", referring to Bill Clinton's Monica Lewinsky scandal.[29]
Vitter will not face criminal charges due to the statute of limitations.[30]
Vitter incurred significant legal and public relations expenses in his efforts to avoid giving testimony in the Palfrey trial and to respond to the ethics complaint. Consequently, his attorneys sought permission from the Federal Election Commission to use campaign funds to pay for these expenses.[31][32] The Commission, along partisan lines, couldn't agree whether funds could be used for reimbursing costs related to the Palfrey trial but did allow them to pay for expenses connected to the Ethics Committee complaint.[33][34][35]
[edit] Canal Street Madam
On July 10, 2007, Jeanette Maier, the "Canal Street Madam", alleged that Vitter was a customer on more than one occasion in the 1990s, when Maier was identified by federal prosecutors as operating a $300 per hour brothel.[36] The Times-Picayune reported that "Maier offered no evidence or documents to support her claim."[37] A polygraph (lie detector) test was arranged for a New Orleans prostitute who claimed Vitter hired her and had sexual intercourse with her. The prostitute passed the test.[38]
[edit] Reaction
While the Louisiana state Republican Party offered guarded support,[39] national Republicans offered forgiveness.[40] The Nation predicted that the Republican Party would be in a "forgiving mood", pointing out if Vitter did step down, then Governor of Louisiana, Kathleen Blanco, a Democrat, would likely appoint a Democrat to take Vitter's place until a special election took place, thus increasing Democratic control over the Senate.[41][42][43]
Republican Senator Sam Brownback told Bloomberg Television on October 5, 2007, that Vitter should be censured by the Senate. He said, "I think you could see something like that taking place. If you look at the actual crime itself and the discussion across the country– and as a Republican– this is bad."[44]
In a similar vein when the Eliot Spitzer prostitution scandal — Spitzer being then governor of New York — hit the headlines, commentators contrasted the end-results: Spitzer resigned while Vitter stayed on.[45][46][47] In response, Jeff Crouere, a New Orleans conservative political commentator, called on Vitter to resign, saying he was an ineffective representative and reflected poorly on the state.[48] Other local political figures differed with Crouere. Democratic political consultant James Carville said the two cases were entirely different: Spitzer's situation developed from an active investigation and as a former prosecutor and governor he had powerful enemies. In contrast, Carville described Vitter as "Louisiana’s junior senator and nobody really knows him or cares that much about him," but concluded that, "if they paid with their own money, I don’t think either one should resign." The Louisiana Republican governor Bobby Jindal said, "Senator Vitter has already addressed this.... The people of New York can deal with the Governor of New York.”[49] Additionally, one gauge of the scandal's impact — local fundraising — indicated that Vitter has weathered the controversy well: first quarter 2008 finance reports show that he made, according to The Times-Picayune, an "impressive haul".[50] Another gauge, voter approval, indicates Vitter is, as of June 2008, still popular with Louisiana voters.[51]
Following the June 2009 admission of Nevada Senator John Ensign that he had an affair with an employee of his Senate office, the Louisiana Democratic Party called on Senator Vitter to resign his leadership position (as a deputy whip) in the Senate, arguing that because Ensign had resigned his position as Republican Policy Committee Chairman of the United States Senate, Vitter should do the same.[52]
As Republican calls for the resignation of Democratic New York Rep. Anthony Weiner mount, the party is being forced to confront its own uncomfortable reality: sitting Senator David Vitter of Louisiana.*snip*Vitter was discovered to have regularly used the prostitution service of Deborah Jean Palfrey, also known as the D.C. Madam, after details of an investigation into Palfrey's service were leaked to Hustler magazine.
Vitter admitted to using the Washington, D.C.-based prostitution service in July 2007. Even so, 27 prominent Republicans gave a total of $161,700 to Vitter's 2010 reelection effort.
One of those Republicans was John Cornyn, the head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Cornyn called on Weiner to resign Wednesday. In 2009, he gave Vitter $10,000 and as chair of the NRSC directed another $42,800 to his campaign, according to Federal Election Commission records.
House Speaker John Boehner has yet to weigh in on Weiner, but if he does, he may have to answer questions about the $5,000 he gave to Vitter in 2010. Boehner was one of only three House Republicans to donate to Vitter's campaign.
In July 2007 Vitter admitted, first in a letter and then at a press conference, to have used Palfrey's prostitution service when he served in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2004. Vitter was also revealed to have scheduled prostitution appointments during House roll call votes. Vitter had previously denied having an affair and paying for prostitutes, citing family problems for his withdrawal from a bid for the Louisiana governorship in 2002.
After the Palfrey revelations, a New Orleans-based prostitute, Wendy Yow, came forward and revealed that Vitter had regularly used her services after he was elected to the House in a special election to replace Rep. Bob Livingston, who retired to become a lobbyist after revealing his own affair.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) stated, "I don't condone his activity. And I think he should resign." Cornyn echoed Cantor's call on Wednesday. And from Alternet there is this...Other lawmakers who may be thinking twice before calling for Weiner's resignation include Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), John Barrasso (R-Wyo), John McCain (R-Ariz.), John Thune (R-S.D.), Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Mike Enzi (R-Wyo), Mike Johanns (R-Neb.), Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Pat Roberts (R-Kan.), Richard Burr (R-N.C.), Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.), Thad Cochran (R-Miss.), Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), Dave Camp (R-Mich.), Louie Gohmert (R-Texas). Each contributed to Vitter's reelection campaign.
There's not enough Boudreaux Buttpaste in the world that can wipe-clean a career like Vitter's-- now better known as The Guy Who Frequents Prostitutes and Asks To Wear a Diaper.*snip*Apparently the whores of New Orleans call him "Vitter the Shitter." And don't even ask about his love child -- who, one can only hope, is kept well-stocked with Pampers.
*snip*Vitter refuses to resign, of course. He and his wife took the neo-Antoinette position at their recent press conference: "Let them eat shit."
David said God, and His Wife Wendy, were willing to move on -- and so should everyone else. After all, he still has plenty of gay marriages to wreck, and black voters to disenfranchise! Let the man get on with his work!
But his better half upstaged him. Wendy showed up for the cameras in a low-cut leopard print dress and giant hoop earrings, to say she's forgiven Davy for everything and it was time for the press to leave their family alone.
So, from what Mrs.Vitter implied, would that mean that Sen. Vitter is now a eunich? In 2000, Vitter was included in a Newhouse News Service story about the strain of congressional careers on families.
His wife, Wendy, was asked by the Newhouse reporter: If her husband were as unfaithful as Livingston or former President Bill Clinton, would she be as forgiving as Hillary Rodham Clinton?
"I'm a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary," Wendy Vitter told Newhouse News. "If he does something like that, I'm walking away with one thing, and it's not alimony, trust me."
"I think fear is a very good motivating factor in a marriage," she added. "Don't put fear down.
Anyway.....There you have it. The Republicans have amnesia when it comes to their own tawdry indiscretions and lash out with their hypocritical morality when it suits their political interests. The Republican Party, with the help of the Media, are very good at keeping their sexual indiscretions in the closet yet are quick to "Cast Stones" when it suits their purpose.
The hypocrisy is maddening and yet the Democratic party seems intent to destroy one of it's own to appease the Breitbarts of the world!
As far as we know, what Anthony Weiner did was not illegal. They were "consenting" adults willing to pleasure themselves as millions do every day online. Was it smart of him to engage in this type of activity? He had to know that his scalp had a price attached to it. But at the end of the day I believe, as many others do, that the only person he had to answer to was his wife and that would be punishment enough for any man.
So I ask...."You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."
**Update**
Seems the enormous pressure bought to bear on Weiner finally took it's toll. He resigned today.
